Welcome to the website of the War Museum Solkan
Solkan War Museum is a private museum collection of objects dating from the First World War the Isonzo Front. The museum collection is concerned with studying and preserving the legacy of World War I on our soil. The collection is not closed but open to the public and as such serves as a reminder and warning to the atrocities of World War II.
War Museum Solkan deals with:
- Study and preservation of the legacy of World War I
- The collection, recording, maintenance and storage of objects
- Photography sites of World War I
- Command on a private collection
- Guidance venues Isonzo Front
The Tourist Association Solkan participate in guided tours Solkan.
In 15 years of operation, the War Museum Solkan turned into an extremely large and rich collection of objects found on the Isonzo front.
The collection is presented in the basement of the house in the family Boltar Solkan, on the surface of 55 m2. It has more than 3,000 items of Austria-Hungary and the Italian army. Arranged after the block depending on the purpose and meaning of exhibited objects.
It was at this turning point, 15 years of operation, we decided to arrange a transparent and useful site for all visitors who are interested in this topic.
Page has a new look and many new features. We updated it in a way that will be available to all users, even beginners.
It is designed to spread news on the topic of the First World War. Information on upcoming events, exhibitions, meetings.
